Miguel Milá is regarded as one of Spain's pioneering and influential industrial designers. Initially working as an interior designer during the early modernist movement, Milá began creating the objects he needed but couldn’t find commercially. Using raw and renewable materials, he hand-crafted prototypes, refining his designs into the iconic lighting and furniture pieces he is known for today. Miguel Milá: A Life in Design provides an in-depth exploration of his most significant works from 1956 to 2021, featuring archival photos, drawings, and new images captured at Milá's Barcelona home by Nacho Alegre. The book is introduced by renowned English designer Jasper Morrison, with product descriptions and analysis by design scholar Francisco Gaspar Quevedo, who also authored a biographical text on Milá’s life, career, and design philosophy.
